TK Maxx in Southport NOSE all about fundraising!

Staff at TK Maxx in Southport have a host of fundraising events planned for 2022 with this year’s Comic Relief appeal next up.

The store, at Marble Place in Southport town centre, is once again selling Red Nose Day branded T-shirts and notepads, with all proceeds going to the charity.

Members of staff have also been busy doing their own fundraising, including a 100-mile cycling challenge, fun and games in store and a 17.6 mile walking challenge.

This year’s Red Nose Day takes place on Friday, 18th March.

TK Maxx Southport Store Manager Carl Pearson said: “In store we are selling the official Red Nose Day T-shirts and notepads with designs commissioned from 11 artists.

“The specially created diverse range features amazing artwork delivered by artists from different disciplines, communities and backgrounds, making this year’s T-shirt collection the most unique yet with something for everyone. All profits go to Comic Relief.”

Colleagues in the store will also be doing lots of fundraising themselves.

Carl said: “We have so far completed some fundraising based around Valentine’s Day themed games. The team is also completing a 100 mile cycling challenge on an exercise bike set up at the front of the store!”

Staff at Southport’s TK Maxx love getting into the fundraising spirit

There is much more planned too

Carl said: “To celebrate this year’s World Book Day, the team are dressing up as characters during the weekend of 26th and 27th February for fun and games in store. We are also hoping to have a children’s pre-loved book sale to raise money for Comic Relief.

“We would like to invite local children to arrive in the store dressed as their favourite characters and win a treat.”

He added: “On 5th March I am aiming to complete a 17.6 mile walk challenge, hopefully dressed as a giant Red Nose – weather permitting. “I will be starting at our St Helens store, walking to Liverpool, stopping at our Prescot and Edge Lane stores to support their in-store fundraising happening on the day. I have team members from each store joining me for sections of the walk making it a district event. We are then travelling up to Ainsdale to walk the final 4.5 miles to our store here in Southport because of course we have to finish here.

On 12th March staff will be doing a mass hula hoop event in the store and in Marble Place with the help of a hula hoop expert and the public can have a go too.
