Southport BID are pleased to be supporting the Southport Comedy Festival again for 2019. Each year the BID funding allows the festival to put on four comedy pub crawl’s across sixteen great BID area venues.
The comedy crawls are supported by the BID in order to to bring all the fun of the festival to smaller venues.
Sarah Rodriguez, of Southport BID says of the event: “It’s a great way for us to bring events into places that wouldn’t usually have comedy nights. The events also bring visitors into new venues they may not have discovered or been to in a while providing great publicity and exposure”
Sixteen venues in Southport will take part in the crawls, with four bars taking place in each one.
Brendan Riley, of Big Comedy UK, the team behind the Comedy Festival for the last nine years, says of the BID’s support: “Over the last two years we’ve expanded the festival, and the BID are instrumental in helping us do that. “Customers only know about one place, the first pub we start in. After that it’s a mystery tour, we’ll watch a comedian in the first place then we get the tannoy out and move on, en masse, get a drink in the next place and then another comedian gets up and does 15 minutes.”
Southport BID’s funding also supports the Children’s Comedy Trail taking place Sunday 6th October starting at The Grub Hub Ocean Plaza.
Starting venues for 2019 are as follows:
Thursday 3rd October Bold Hotel, Lord Street
Monday 7th October Hideaway, Scarisbrick Avenue
Thursday 10th October The Pavilion, Town Hall Gardens
Wednesday 16th October The Coronation, King Street
All tickets and info can be found on www.southportcomedyfestival.com and tickets for each crawl will be available in starting venues soon!
