On the evening of Tuesday April 18 we were joined by representatives from the BID business community at The Vincent Hotel for the Your Southport Stars Awards 2023.
The Awards are an opportunity to bring together the BID business community and to celebrate the positive impact of our businesses.
Businesses were asked to put themselves forward in one of nine categories. These nominations were then put forward for a public vote. The full list of nominees can be found here.
We were delighted to see the nominees embracing the awards, running their own campaigns, and encouraging customers to vote. The hard work and dedication of Southport businesses was evidently recognised with over 35,000 votes for the Stars Awards.
The event saw over 150 representatives of Southport BID businesses join us at the Vincent Hotel.
After some welcome drinks and food, Rachel Fitzgerald (Southport BID CEO) and Dan Taylor (Southport BID Chair) introduced the Awards. Alex Moretti (CEO of Fallen Planet Studios and Southport BID treasurer) also spoke briefly on economic diversity and future-proofing our town centre.

Two Special Recognition awards were also given out to organisations who do incredible work within our town centre. Congratulations to Light for Life and Holy Trinity Primary School.
Coopers Bar House Jazz Band kept everyone entertained throughout the night and played some ingenious introductions to the award winners.
