It is the investment of BID businesses that makes our town centre vibrant over the festive period and allows for public events to take place across the calendar year.

We organise activities and initiatives to encourage footfall, dwell time and increased spend by promoting the town centre to residents and visitors.

CHRISTMAS ILLUMINATIONS

The BID provides an illuminated 60ft Christmas tree, which is much-loved and attracts thousands of visitors every year. We also provide comprehensive festive lighting displays throughout the town centre. 

  • The Bear and The Reindeer
  • The signature Christmas tree.
  • The ‘Boulevard of Light’ on Lord Street.
  • Five further illuminated trees across the town centre.
  • 87 lamppost motifs, 9 overhead welcome signs, plus stars and sail lights on roundabouts.

FESTIVE ATTRACTIONS

The BID delivers a programme of affordable and accessible Christmas attractions, to encourage residents and visitors of all ages to engage with Southport throughout the festive period.

  • The Southport Christmas Spectacular, which launches the Christmas season and attracts thousands to the town centre each year.
  • The brand-new Musical Light Shows
  • Festive trails, including The Gingerbread Family Trail and the 12 Days of Christmas Trail
  • Santa’s Grottos, The Christmas Carriage Ride, Digital Winter Wonderland and more.
