Southport Comedy Festival 2024📍Victoria Park 📅 27th September-13th October
The Southport Comedy Festival in association with Halliwell Jones MINI is back for its 13th year and it is bigger and better than ever.
From the 27th September to 13th October stars from the world of comedy will descend on our lovely seaside town for 17 days of laughter.
Heritage Building Sketching Workshop📍The Engine Room 📅 1st October
Ruth Ryder and Bev Bush will be hosting a ‘Heritage Sketching Workshop’ from The Engine Room on 1 Oct, 12:30 – 3:30pm, in appreciation of the decorative Arts and Crafts style that is part of the lovely Wayfarers arcade.
SCREEN CLUB FILM TALK📍Bijou Cinema 📅 1st October
Each weekly session includes an entertaining and informative FILM TALK with BIG SCREEN clips hosted by a TOP RATED Screen Studies Tutor with industry experience. Screen Club’s aim is to entertain, educate and connect people through the study, discussion and enjoyment of the best from film and TV’s international history (including Music, Art, Design and Performance). Discovering new ways to appreciate and enjoy Great Cinema while learning more about professional filmmaking techniques and the creative process. To help pioneer a new and growing optimistic film community in Southport.

Step back in time with us for a night filled with live entertainment.

We are delighted to present an afternoon of the finest in Big Band Swing!
The Swingtime Big Band are the North West’s finest exponents of swing and big band music. They will be presenting an afternoon of dynamic, swinging numbers showcasing these 17 brilliant musicians. This band has formed a stellar reputation and is the resident band at the annual Southport Jazz Festival. Having performed alongside the UK’s biggest names in Jazz and Swing such as Matt ford, Clare Teal, Liane Carroll and Andy Prior.

ABC – An Intimate Evening With Martin Fry 📍The Atkinson 📅 30th October
The hits earned their place in pop history. From Poison Arrow to The Look Of Love, from All Of My Heart, and Be Near Me, to When Smokey Sings, ABC were the band that redefined glamour and cool. Led by the charismatic Martin Fry, they enjoyed TransAtlantic success as The Lexicon of Love proved as artful as a Warhol silkscreen, and glossier than Marilyn’s lipstick. ABC’s The Lexicon of Love was a brilliantly distinctive debut album, fizzing with bright ideas, and unapologetically flamboyant.
Mexican Festival 📍Southport Pleasureland📅 2nd November
By popular demand our Mexican themed spectacular will be back once again for 2024! This traditional celebration brings friends and family together in an exciting and colourful carnival atmosphere.
On Saturday 2nd November a flavour of Mexico will come alive once again at Pleasureland, with spectacular entertainment galore on the central stage! The park will be festooned with brightly coloured sugar skulls creating a fabulous fiesta atmosphere! As in previous years, a stunning firework display will be the final climax of what promises to be an amazing night. Gates open at 4pm and it’s unlimited rides* all evening, as well as a whole host of entertainment to be enjoyed before our stunning firework finale.
