Businesses celebrate Flower Show centenary at Southport BID Event

Business gathered at Victoria Park on Friday 16 August for the Southport Flower Show Business Lunch.

The Lunch, now in it’s second year, is organised by Southport BID and provides an opportunity for businesses to connect with colleagues and to engage with the the Board Directors of Southport Flower Show.

Over 100 representatives of Southport BID businesses attended the lunch, as well as guests from Liverpool BID and regional stakeholders.

The talks opened with Pauline Morris and Helen Marshall, who spoke about the vital work undertaken by Lord Street in Bloom Garden Volunteers.

Sharon Gregory-Wareing, who also works with the Volunteers, informed guests about her role as Community Champion at ASDA Southport.

Ellie Blundell, General Manager at Penelope’s, discussed the journey so far for the new Rotten Row-based restaurant which is going from strength to strength.

Alan Adams, CEO of Southport Flower Show, closed out the talks by championing collaboration between the business community and the Show.

The Southport Flower Show celebrated it’s centenary year with a packed-out event featuring stunning show gardens and celebrity guests.

The event is a vital part of Southport’s tourism calendar, attracting over 55,000 visitors into the area each year and generating over £4.5m of revenue for the local economy.
