Southport BID delivers First Aid Course for Southport Pubwatch members

On Tuesday October 2, Southport BID delivered a first aid course for members of Southport Pubwatch.

The bespoke course, which was tailored specifically for night time economy businesses, focused on:

  • CPR & Defibrillation
  • Stab and Catastrophic Bleeding
  • Acid Attacks
  • Spiked Drinks
  • Needle Stick Injury
  • Choking
  • Unconscious Casualty & Protection of Airway
  • Head Injuries
Over 30 staff members of licensed premises completed the course which was held at Southport Coaster.

Jonathan Cunningham delivered the training on behalf of Southport Community First Response Team.

Southport Pubwatch is a pro-active scheme involving licensees of bars, pubs and night-time economy venues in Southport Town Centre, as well as Merseyside Police, Merseyside Police Licensing, and other agencies.

Information relating to incidents linked to licensed premises is gathered, collated and

exchanged to reduce and prevent violence and anti-social behaviour in order that a safe and secure environment is maintained throughout Southport Town Centre.
