It has been announced in parliament that stricter measures are to come in place across the wider region, including Sefton and Southport, as infection rates soar. Measures will take effect from midnight Friday.
These will include:
- No mixing between households other than outdoor public venues and outdoor hospitality (bar terraces/beer gardens)
- No spectators for professional or amateur sports
- Essential travel only – meaning work or school
- People to only visit care homes in urgent circumstances
